Mount Bachelor
Mount Bachelor rises to 2,764 m (9,068 ft) in the Cascade Range, about 29 km southwest of Bend, Oregon. For generations it was Bachelor Butte, a name earned by standing apart from its neighbours, the Three Sisters. A small ski area opened on its slopes in 1941 and had grown into a full resort by 1958. Its developers worried that skiing on a butte sounded small-time and called the resort Mount Bachelor instead; as the name caught on, the Oregon Geographic Names Board voted, in a split decision, to make it official. Geologically the peak is young, a stratovolcano built atop a shield volcano between 18,000 and 8,000 years ago, and it lies under a mantle of ash from the eruption of Mount Mazama. It belongs to the 24 km Mount Bachelor Volcanic Chain and is the only major Cascade volcano with a chairlift to its summit.

Our solid hardwood cribbage boards are modeled with actual topographic data to capture any place on earth. Each board has a storage space for three sets of metal pegs behind a custom-etched stainless steel door. Boards measure roughly 350mm (13.5”) long by 190mm (7.5") wide by 90mm (3.5”) tall and are finished with tung oil for durability and a slight sheen. Additional options include a custom message or logo etched on the stainless steel door tag (32 characters max, +$10), and an engraved name, message or logo on the side or underside of the board (+$20 standard, +$40 with a contrasting filler). Side and underside engraving is sized to fit the board, typically no taller than 1 inch (25 mm). For a logo, send us a PNG through our contact form after you order, with your order number.
Our products are designed, crafted, and finished in Alberta, Canada.
