Baldy
In 1866 Native people, likely Ute or Jicarilla Apache, traded pieces of copper ore from this mountain with soldiers at Fort Union. When a few soldiers were sent up to work the find, one of them, Kelley, spotted gold in the gravel, and a rush began. Elizabethtown sprang up below the mountain and became the first incorporated town in New Mexico. The Aztec mine turned out an estimated $4 million in gold, likely the most in the district, and the mining camp of Baldy Town lasted until 1941. The mountain climbs 1,110 metres from the Moreno Valley in less than five kilometres to a summit of 3,792 metres (12,441 ft) in the Cimarron Range. Since 1963 much of it has belonged to Philmont Scout Ranch, which keeps Baldy Town as a staff camp.

Our solid hardwood cribbage boards are modeled with actual topographic data to capture any place on earth. Each board has a storage space for three sets of metal pegs behind a custom-etched stainless steel door. Boards measure roughly 350mm (13.5”) long by 190mm (7.5") wide by 90mm (3.5”) tall and are finished with tung oil for durability and a slight sheen. Additional options include a custom message or logo etched on the stainless steel door tag (32 characters max, +$10), and an engraved name, message or logo on the side or underside of the board (+$20 standard, +$40 with a contrasting filler).
