At the upper end of the Chamonix valley, above the village of Argentière, two very different ranges face each other. To the west stand the Aiguilles Rouges, the “red needles,” whose gneiss is tinted by iron; since 1974 much of this range has been a national nature reserve, home to ibex, chamois and golden eagles, with Lac Blanc among its many tarns. To the east rise the glaciers and spires of the Mont Blanc massif, where a cable car has climbed from Argentière toward the Aiguille des Grands Montets since 1963. Between them, the Col des Montets at 1,461 m opens the way to Vallorcine and Switzerland, a crossing used since Roman times and later by the Tour de France. Chamonix, the commune that takes in all of this, hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924.

Our solid hardwood cribbage boards are modeled with actual topographic data to capture any place on earth. Each board has a storage space for three sets of metal pegs behind a custom-etched stainless steel door. Boards measure roughly 350mm (13.5”) long by 190mm (7.5") wide by 90mm (3.5”) tall and are finished with tung oil for durability and a slight sheen. Additional options include a custom message or logo etched on the stainless steel door tag (32 characters max, +$10), and an engraved name, message or logo on the side or underside of the board (+$20 standard, +$40 with a contrasting filler). Side and underside engraving is sized to fit the board, typically no taller than 1 inch (25 mm). For a logo, send us a PNG through our contact form after you order, with your order number.

Our products are designed, crafted, and finished in Alberta, Canada.

Disclaimer: Because we use solid hardwood, some boards may have natural imperfections.
