Presidential Range
The Presidential Range holds the highest summits of the White Mountains and some of the harshest weather anywhere. Its crown, Mount Washington, 1,917 m (6,288 ft), was known to the Abenaki as Agiocochook and was probably named in 1784 by the Rev. Manasseh Cutler, when Washington was still a general rather than a president. In July 1820 a group from Lancaster hired Ethan Allen Crawford to guide them up, and from the summit they named the neighbouring peaks in descending order of height for Adams, Jefferson, Madison and Monroe. A carriage road reached the top in 1861 and a cog railway in 1869. In 1934 observers on the summit measured a gust of 372 km/h (231 mph), a world record that stood until 1996.

Our solid hardwood cribbage boards are modeled with actual topographic data to capture any place on earth. Each board has a storage space for three sets of metal pegs behind a custom-etched stainless steel door. Boards measure roughly 350mm (13.5”) long by 190mm (7.5") wide by 90mm (3.5”) tall and are finished with tung oil for durability and a slight sheen. Additional options include a custom message or logo etched on the stainless steel door tag (32 characters max, +$10), and an engraved name, message or logo on the side or underside of the board (+$20 standard, +$40 with a contrasting filler). Side and underside engraving is sized to fit the board, typically no taller than 1 inch (25 mm). For a logo, email a PNG to info@knurl.ca after you order.
Our products are designed, crafted, and finished in Alberta, Canada.
Disclaimer: Because we use solid hardwood, some boards may have natural imperfections.
