Mount Princeton is one of the most dramatic summits in the Collegiate Peaks of Colorado's Sawatch Range. The name, in use by 1873, was most likely chosen by survey topographer Henry Gannett, and fittingly the first recorded ascent was made on 17 July 1877 by William Libbey of Princeton University, although miners may have beaten him to it. Few Colorado mountains rise so abruptly: the summit, at 4,328 metres (14,200 ft), stands nearly 2,100 metres above the Arkansas River valley within about 10 kilometres. The mountain is built of quartz monzonite, a granite-like rock intruded some 36 million years ago. Along Chalk Creek at its foot, hot water has altered that rock into the brilliant white Chalk Cliffs, which rise about 500 metres above Mount Princeton Hot Springs, near Buena Vista.

Our solid hardwood cribbage boards are modeled with actual topographic data to capture any place on earth. Each board has a storage space for three sets of metal pegs behind a custom-etched stainless steel door. Boards measure roughly 350mm (13.5”) long by 190mm (7.5") wide by 90mm (3.5”) tall and are finished with tung oil for durability and a slight sheen. Additional options include a custom message or logo etched on the stainless steel door tag (32 characters max, +$10), and an engraved name, message or logo on the side or underside of the board (+$20 standard, +$40 with a contrasting filler). Side and underside engraving is sized to fit the board, typically no taller than 1 inch (25 mm). For a logo, send us a PNG through our contact form after you order, with your order number.

Our products are designed, crafted, and finished in Alberta, Canada.

Disclaimer: Because we use solid hardwood, some boards may have natural imperfections.
